Rocket Signs Terms of Sale & Return Policy

We are consumers too, and we try to run Rocket Signs in a way that we would feel good about if we were the customer.

These terms explain how ordering, production, shipping, returns, cancellations, and problem resolution work. Please read them before placing an order. By placing an order with Rocket Signs, you agree to these terms of sale.

If anything is unclear, please contact us before ordering so we can help before the presses start humming.

The short version

We work hard to be fair, fast, and reasonable. Most orders go smoothly, but signs are custom products, production moves quickly, and shipping carriers can occasionally have bad days.

  • Please review your order, artwork, proof, shipping address, and deadline carefully.
  • If you have a firm deadline, ask for a written deadline guarantee before ordering.
  • If something is wrong, let us know quickly so we can help.
  • When a problem needs to be fixed, Rocket Signs may choose the appropriate remedy, which may include repair, replacement, credit, cancellation, or refund.
  • Custom printed products are not handled the same way as ordinary off-the-shelf merchandise.
  • These full terms control if there is ever a question about how an order will be handled.

Production time, turnaround, and deadline guarantees

Rocket Signs is known for fast turnaround. Many orders are completed in a timeframe ranging from the same day to about a week, depending on the product, quantity, artwork, workload, materials, and other production factors.

If you need your order by a specific date, please ask your sales representative for a clearer production estimate before ordering.

Same-day shipping

Orders that are packed and ready before the shipping carrier pickup will be shipped regardless of when they were ordered.

Same-day service may be available on some products, but it is not guaranteed unless you receive a written deadline guarantee from Rocket Signs. Product descriptions may state whether same-day turnaround is available for a specific product. Not all items can ship the same day.

Same-day service may be delayed, changed, or suspended because of national holidays, holiday weeks, inclement weather, acts of God, illness, power outages, equipment failure, unusually high order volume, labor strikes, supply issues, or other circumstances beyond our control.

Rush requests

Rocket Signs does not like the industry practice of charging excessive rush fees just because a customer needs help quickly. We often work longer days during busy periods to get orders completed on time.

That said, rush production can reduce the amount of time available for normal production and quality-control steps. When a customer requests or requires a rush during an especially busy period, minor imperfections, production limitations, or quality issues may be more likely.

By requesting rush production, you understand that minor issues caused by the compressed schedule may not be treated the same way as ordinary production defects.

Deadline guarantee

The only way to have an order guaranteed to ship on or by a specific date is to request and receive a written deadline guarantee certificate from Rocket Signs.

A deadline guarantee certificate is a written promise from Rocket Signs that your order will ship by a specific date. You may request one before ordering online or by phone.

There is no extra charge for a deadline guarantee certificate, but not all orders can be guaranteed. If Rocket Signs issues a deadline guarantee certificate, the order will be watched closely from beginning to end so it can ship in time for the stated deadline.

If we promise in writing that your order will ship in time for your deadline and it does not ship in time, Rocket Signs will refund the money for the items you cannot use.

To be eligible for a complete refund under the deadline guarantee, all items must be returned to Rocket Signs in new, unused condition within 10 days. Please contact customer service so return arrangements can be made. When the deadline guarantee applies, Rocket Signs will arrange pickup at our expense.

What the deadline guarantee does not cover

The deadline guarantee applies to the ship date promised by Rocket Signs. It does not guarantee that the shipping carrier will deliver the package by a specific date after it leaves our facility.

Shipping delays caused by weather, labor strikes, carrier delays, loss, damage, misdelivery, remote delivery addresses, unusually high carrier volume, or other carrier issues are beyond our control.

Rocket Signs may upgrade your order to a faster shipping method at our expense if necessary to meet a deadline.

An order with an underrun of 10% or less that ships on time is considered a met deadline obligation. You will receive credit or refund for the shortage, but the entire order will not be refunded solely because of that underrun.

Prices, extra charges, and fees

Unless otherwise stated, Rocket Signs prices are intended to be all-inclusive. In most cases, your order should arrive ready to use at the price shown or quoted.

Sales tax may apply.

For exported orders, the customer is responsible for any duties, tariffs, customs charges, or import fees charged when the order enters the destination country.

Free shipping offer

Rocket Signs does not charge freight, shipping, or handling for custom sign product orders of $149 or more shipped to one address in the lower 48 United States, unless the product or order is excluded as described below.

Free shipping is usually provided by FedEx Ground, UPS Ground, or the least expensive reliable day-definite carrier or service available for the order.

If you need faster shipping, such as overnight or second-day shipping, you may upgrade for an additional charge.

Multiple shipping addresses

If your order needs to ship to multiple addresses, shipping to one address may be free, but shipping to the additional addresses will not be free. Additional packaging charges may also apply.

Exclusions from free shipping

The free shipping offer may exclude:

  • Stock signs and supplies ordered without custom products
  • Addresses not serviced by the major carriers we use
  • Geographically remote locations with unusually high shipping costs
  • Large or oversized shipments
  • Orders requiring freight delivery

Items that are not eligible for free shipping will usually say so in the product description. If additional shipping charges are required because of your address or the items ordered, Rocket Signs will notify you before processing the order.

At our discretion, orders with numerous parcels, large dimensions, or heavy weights may be delivered by a freight line in a large truck.

Overruns, underruns, shortages, and print tolerances

Printed products can be subject to small quantity differences. In some cases, it is not possible to produce the exact quantity ordered because of production setup, print loss, material issues, quality-control removal, or other factors.

Underruns

If your order has an underrun, meaning a shortage, Rocket Signs will credit or refund you for the missing quantity.

Rocket Signs is not obligated to produce and ship the shortage later. For that reason, it is best to order at least 10% more than you need, especially if your quantity is critical.

Known underruns will be noted on your invoice, sales receipt, or a separate notice after the order is completed.

If you discover a shortage that Rocket Signs has not already noted, please report it within 7 days of receiving the shipment so we can investigate and issue any appropriate credit or replacement.

Overruns

If your order has an overrun, meaning we ship more than the quantity ordered, you will not be charged for the extra printed items.

Accessories, such as wire stakes, will still be shipped in the original quantity ordered unless otherwise stated.

Misprints and minor print defects

Misprinted items are evaluated during quality control. Some minor imperfections may be considered acceptable, especially when they do not prevent the product from being used as intended.

Printing stock can sometimes contain minor impurities or contaminants from the factory that affect print quality. We do what we can to filter out major issues, but minor imperfections can still occur.

Jobs with heavy ink coverage or reverse printing are more likely to show minor defects. If your order has heavy ink coverage or is reverse printed, you must accept minor print defects.

Artwork, proofs, and color

Artwork policy

By placing an order, you certify that you are authorized to use all parts of the artwork you provide, including the design, art, photographs, copy, fonts, clip art, and logos.

You agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend Rocket Signs, its employees, officers, directors, subsidiaries, and vendors from any claim, demand, suit, or expense arising from the reproduction or use of material you provided to us.

Proof approval

When you approve a design proof, you release Rocket Signs from responsibility for spelling errors, grammar errors, artwork errors, layout errors, omissions, incorrect content, or other errors shown in the approved proof, regardless of who created the error.

All content and proofing are the customer’s responsibility.

Once a proof is approved, last-minute changes are not guaranteed and may not be possible.

Fine detail and small text

Artwork may contain intricate detail, very small text, thin lines, or other elements that appear on a proof but cannot be reproduced cleanly because of the printing method, material, size, ink, or other production limitations.

No guarantee is made that intricate detail or small text in supplied artwork can be printed, or printed without defects, even if those details appear on the proof.

Rocket Signs is not responsible for omissions, defects, or loss of small details that are beyond our ability to reproduce within reasonable quality standards.

If a small detail is important to you, please confirm with us before approving the proof.

Proofing is optional

Proofing may be optional. If you waive a proof, do not approve a proof, or ask us to proceed without proof approval, Rocket Signs is not responsible for errors, omissions, incorrect artwork, or other proof-related issues that could have been caught during review.

Color matching

Rocket Signs may offer color matching as a service, but exact color matching is not guaranteed.

Colors shown in proofs or on this website are not intended to be exact representations of finished printed goods. Screens, monitors, lighting, materials, ink, coatings, production methods, and other factors can change how colors appear.

We make reasonable efforts to display and produce colors accurately, but finished products may differ from online proofs, digital previews, or screen images.

Payment

Unless an open account has been established, Rocket Signs requires full payment in advance before production begins.

Purchase orders may be used with approved open accounts. Open accounts require approval of a signed credit application.

Rocket Signs accepts major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Debit cards and gift cards with accepted major credit card logos are also accepted.

Rocket Signs also accepts personal checks and company checks. Prepayments made by check must clear the bank before production begins.

Bitcoin is accepted for payment. At our discretion, there may be times when we are unable to accept Bitcoin.

Cash and digital cash are also accepted.

There may be times when payment processing is unavailable. Rocket Signs is not responsible for damages resulting from payment-processing outages.

If a refund must be issued, Rocket Signs will try to refund the original payment method when practical, but reserves the right to use a different refund method if necessary.

Returned checks

There is a $45 fee for returned checks, regardless of the reason.

Credit accounts

Rocket Signs may offer open account terms to customers who order regularly and are creditworthy, as determined by credit reports, credit references, or other review.

Credit accounts may have additional terms and conditions. Please ask a sales consultant for an application if you are interested.

How Rocket Signs resolves problems

Rocket Signs stands behind its workmanship as described in this policy. If something is keeping you from being happy with your order, please contact us so we can review the issue.

Depending on the situation, Rocket Signs may choose the appropriate remedy. Remedies may include repair, replacement, credit, cancellation, refund, or another reasonable solution. The remedy will be selected at Rocket Signs’ discretion.

Photographs, documentation, returned merchandise, packaging, or other evidence may be required before a remedy is approved.

Rocket Signs is not liable for additional damages, lost sales, missed events, lost opportunities, installation costs, removal costs, or other losses related to an order problem, delay, defect, mistake, shipping issue, or inability to use the order.

For time-sensitive orders, we strongly recommend ordering far enough in advance so there is time to correct or replace an order if something goes wrong.

These timeframes are part of the terms of sale. Late reports may limit or prevent available remedies.

Returns and cancellations

Defective products or workmanship problems

Repair, replacement, refund, credit, or another remedy may be offered for defective materials or workmanship problems.

Workmanship defects must be reported within 15 days to be considered for refund or replacement. Photographs showing the issue may be required by email.

Stock item returns

If you are unhappy with a stock item, such as accessories or stock signs that have not been customized, you may return those products for a refund minus shipping if returned within 15 days.

Return shipping will be paid by Rocket Signs only in the case of defective merchandise.

All returns require a return authorization number from customer service. Returned items must be received by Rocket Signs within 15 days of the return authorization being issued.

Stock item returns may be subject to a restocking fee.

Stock item orders over $1,000 are not eligible for returns, unless otherwise required by law or approved by Rocket Signs.

Custom orders

Custom printed products are made for a specific customer and are not ordinary stock merchandise. Custom orders are handled under the problem-resolution, defect, cancellation, and deadline policies described in these terms.

Cancellations

Please be sure you want and need what you are ordering before placing the order. Production often begins very quickly, and there is only a brief period when an order can be canceled without charges for work already completed.

If you need to cancel or change an order after approving your proof, call Rocket Signs as soon as possible. If it is outside business hours, contact us online.

If an order can still be canceled and a credit card has already been processed, a 3.5% fee of the total charge will apply and will not be refunded. If the card has not been processed, the 3.5% fee will not apply.

Other digital payment methods that involve processing fees may also result in processing fees being withheld from a refund or credit.

If Rocket Signs cannot fulfill an order

If Rocket Signs is unable to completely fulfill your order, Rocket Signs may cancel all or part of the order and refund the money for the portion that cannot be fulfilled.

By ordering, you agree to release Rocket Signs from liability for damages resulting from our inability to completely fulfill an order.

Mistakes

Rocket Signs is operated by human beings, and mistakes occasionally happen.

If a mistake is our fault, we will do what we reasonably can to correct it, including redoing the order if necessary and appropriate.

You agree to release Rocket Signs from liability for damages resulting from your inability to use an order because of a mistake, delay, defect, or other issue.

If your order is important for a specific date, please order early enough to allow time for a replacement or correction if needed.

Orders damaged, lost, or stolen after delivery

We will take responsibility for getting the order to you, but the remedy may be a refund, replacement, credit, or another reasonable solution depending on the situation.

Damaged shipments

If your order arrives damaged, please point out the damage to the delivery personnel if possible.

Retain all packaging, packing material, and damaged merchandise until the shipping carrier has completed its investigation.

Notify Rocket Signs within 3 days of receiving a damaged shipment.

Shipping insurance may cover the cost of damaged items, but it may not cover the full cost to reproduce and replace the damaged items. Depending on the situation, Rocket Signs may issue a refund, replacement, credit, or another remedy at our discretion.

Lost shipments

If an order is lost in transit, Rocket Signs will submit a claim with the shipping carrier. The carrier will conduct its own investigation.

The investigation may take up to 14 days before the carrier confirms that the shipment is lost.

After the carrier confirms the loss, Rocket Signs will either refund or replace the order at our discretion.

Orders stolen after delivery

Most deliveries do not require a signature and may be left at the destination.

Rocket Signs is not liable for deliveries that are stolen after delivery has been made.

You are responsible for securing your delivery location, including having personnel available to receive shipments and avoiding unattended delivery areas where packages can be taken.

Video surveillance is not considered adequate protection from package theft. Shipments are not insured against theft after delivery has been made.

Unclaimed orders

Orders that do not have a shipping address, or orders that were supposed to be picked up, will be stored for a maximum of 90 days.

After 90 days, the order will be treated as unclaimed lost property in accordance with the laws of our state.
